Over the Valentine's Day weekend, my wife and I were able to take a trip up to NYC. We boarded the Amtrak train from Manassas, VA and arrived on February 14th at Penn Station. We did a lot of touristy things such as the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, see Times Square, museums, walk through Central Park, Broadway, and a last minute trip up the Empire State Building. While we were in the city the weather was freezing. With the wind chill, the temperatures were usually in the single digits and sometimes in the negatives. There was no way to avoid the chill as a majority of the things we wanted to do were out in the open air. We layered up and stayed close to one another. Our trip was extended by a full day due to the weather canceling our train but it allowed us to go up the Empire State Building and see a few more things in the city. One of my favorite things we did was see an exhibition about photography in the New York Public Library. It was all about the social aspect of sharing images. Here are some of my photos from the trip. All images were taken with film using a medium format camera. Prints available upon request.
